Second Printing 2024
Fungi of the Far Realms is an illustrated guide to fictional mushrooms, both magical and mundane, compatible with all role-playing game systems. Inspired by the rambling naturists of past centuries, the book and accompanying deck of flash cards is packed with over 200 characterful fungi accompanied by traditionally made watercolour paintings. The book is a dense and easily used gaming artefact you can either draw from while creating your games or hand to players as an in-universe book to be found by their characters. The flash cards are the perfect way to quickly generate and show your players exactly what wild fungi they see, all while hiding the details from them.
From the regal Agaric Rex to the sinister Woodsmans Baby, every entry explores the history and usage of the fungus along with characterful notes on its habitat, appearance, flavour and aroma. All with large watercolour paintings throughout.
We present to you a unique selection of imaginary fungi, ready-made for inclusion in your favourite fantasy role-playing games or simply read for the mycological joy of it. All neatly organised and lavishly illustrated for you and your players' pleasure.
Original Book Summary
UK Import RPG Guide Hardcover
From MELSONIA
Fungi of the Far Realms is a guide to over 200 fantastical mushrooms. Each mushroom is lavishly illustrated in traditional watercolour and annotated by the esteemed fictional mycologist E. Q. Wintergarden, creating a diegetic field guide of such indulgent quality as to put most real world examples to shame.
The book is system agnostic, with a mild preference towards your typical fantasy RPG, but is robust enough for most uses you could think of. The majority of the book is the titular guide book "Fungi of the Far Realms" and the rest is mechanical assistance in using these mushrooms in your home games.
